History

In 1984, with one modest rental property and a $5,000 investment, Buckingham Companies got its start in the real estate business. Twenty years later, as the company celebrates two decades in the real estate business, Buckingham now manages in excess of 11,000 multifamily residences valued at more than $350 million and has developed $225 million of property throughout the Midwest. Buckingham Companies' full-service platform includes the development and acquisition of multifamily properties, as well as mixed-use property and land development. At first, Buckingham focused on residential development, gaining expertise in the affordable housing tax credit program. Building on that experience, Buckingham evolved into a full-service real estate company. Today Buckingham develops the highest quality residential rental communities and acquires older properties with unique attributes in excellent locations for redevelopment.
