
Alex Jackiw is responsible for all property and asset management functions and the development of third-party fee management business. The management portfolio currently includes more than eight apartment communities in a five-state area totaling over 12,000 units. Before joining Buckingham, Jackiw worked with several large publicly traded investment and management companies where she had profit and loss responsibility for portfolios in multi-state areas that included conventional, market-rate properties, full-service retirement communities, and HUD-regulated properties. Her experience includes all aspects of property management, marketing, new business development, and training. Active in professional organizations, Jackiw currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Indiana Apartment Association, National Apartment Association, and National Apartment Association Education Institute. She also holds an appointment as Assistant Professor at Ball State University, where she teaches in the Residential Property Management program. Jackiw is a licensed real estate broker in Indiana and Ohio and holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through the Institute of Real Estate Management. She is a graduate of the University of Rochester and received her M.Ed. from Ohio University.
As Director of Operations, John Ehrhardt maintains property management operations oversight of the apartment communities in the six-state area, including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Michigan. He is responsible for financial analysis, capital improvement projects, budgeting and property management operations, as well as oversight of the commercial, retail and industrial properties totaling more than 295,000 square feet of rentable space. Before joining Buckingham, Ehrhardt worked for large publicly traded investment and management companies as well as private property management and development companies. Ehrhardt holds degrees in both Architectural Engineering and Construction Engineering from Indiana State University. He also earned an MBA in Real Estate Management and Development from Nova University, Florida, and holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through IREM and the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
Kimberly Hurd is responsible for developing and delivering training programs for site personnel. In addition to her training duties, she provides marketing support for the Buckingham portfolio with a focus on under-performing assets, developing advertising/outreach materials, and creating targeted marketing. She graduated from Franklin College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She is a frequent contributor to the Sales and Marketing Magic publication and has served as a facilitator for the nationally renowned Multifamily Housing Brainstorming Sessions for several years. She is also active in the Indiana Apartment Association, where she serves on the Marketing Task Force.
David Creek began in the business of maintenance and apartment management over two decades ago and has held the positions of Maintenance Supervisor, Regional Maintenance Supervisor, and Mentoring Supervisor. This broad range of experience makes Creek a perfect fit for maintenance support and guidance for Buckingham's entire portfolio. He currently is working on several Capital Expenditure projects, in-field training, and is a proctor for CFC/EPA certification. Creek is a Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician and Certified Apartment Property Supervisor, in addition to being an HVAC specialist.
Andy Bohr has been in the property management industry for over 25 years - working primarily with large publicly traded real estate management firms in the area of construction management, property rehabs and maintenance training. Previous positions held by Andy have included Construction Project Manager, Director of Construction Services and National Director of Learning and Development. Andy holds the CAMT designation through the National Apartment Association, is a licensed contractor and a certified lead-based paint compliance trainer. Andy's primary focus with Buckingham is coordination of large capital improvement projects, contract negotiation and training of on-site maintenance personnel.
Kristen Sanders joined Buckingham Companies in 1996 as a Property Manager and has played several additional roles, such as Director of Compliance, Management Specialist and, currently, Human Resources Manager. She provides Human Resources support for all site and corporate personnel, in addition to being the Buckingham liaison to all outside Human Resource sources. Her years of Human Resource experience and dedication played a large role in Buckingham's receipt of the 2004 Best Employee Relations Prodigy Award. Sanders is certified as a Human Resources Generalist, a National Compliance Professional and a Housing Credit Compliance Professional.
Maria Klause joined the Buckingham team in 1996 as a leasing consultant and has held a variety of positions for the company, including Assistant Manager, Property Manager, Regional Property Manager and Director of Compliance. She manages four communities and specializes in compliance with regard to the low-income housing tax credit program. In her Compliance capacity, Klause oversees the restructuring of file systems for new fee managed communities. Her experience and expertise in the tax credit arena is vital to the Management Team's due diligence process. She holds a Tax Credit accreditation, CAPS certification and a National Compliance Professional certification.
Linda Ferrill oversees Buckingham Companies' Carmel, Indiana, portfolio in addition to northern Indiana communities for a total of over 1,900 apartment homes. She is responsible for the daily operation and financial success of a portfolio of communities and is skilled in marketing, financial management, maintenance and training. Ferrill is a graduate of Ball State University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She holds the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through IREM. Ferrill is also active on the Ball State University Residential Property Management Advisory Board.
Joining Buckingham in January 2005, Andrea Cummings manages a group of apartment communities located in Indianapolis, Indiana and Cincinnati, Ohio. Her affordable housing experience, gained from serving for three years as the Director of Housing Management for the Indianapolis Housing Agency, is a great asset both to her portfolio and the Buckingham Management team. Cummings is a candidate for the Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation awarded through IREM and is currently working on her coursework toward that designation. She also holds the Certified Public Housing Manager (CPHM) designation awarded through the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (NAHRO) and the Certified Tax Credit Manager designation awarded through Quadel Consulting Corporation. Cummings attended the University of Cincinnati where she studied Business Management and has also taken courses in Residential Property Management at Ball State University.
Heather Gaff joins the Buckingham Team with several years of property and regional management experience and currently oversees several tax credit and conventional properties across the Midwest. Heather holds her Indiana real estate license and served as a Sales Manager for a condominium conversion project in Indianapolis. In 2004 Heather received an invitation to serve as a member of the advisory board for Ball State's Regional Property Manager Program. Heather brings a wealth of additional skills and experience including personnel and software training, marketing and public relations and strategic and financial planning. Heather holds a Bachelor of Art degree in Education from the University of Saint Francis and also attended Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne.
Angie Atkins joined Buckingham August 2006 and manages a portfolio of 8 properties throughout the state of Indiana. She has over 10 years of multi-site supervisory experience. She holds the Site Compliance Specialist designation thru Elizabeth Moreland Consulting and has completed the CAPS coursework for the CAPS Designation. Prior to joining Buckingham, she was responsible for developing policy and procedure that encompassed the marketing approach for both Section 42 and Conventional properties. In past ventures, she has been awarded a variety of honors, including: Top Performance in a new Position, Top Manager and Top Contribution by a District Manager.
Carrie manages properties for Buckingham in Southern Indiana and Kentucky. Since her start with Buckingham in July of 2006, she has developed a portfolio of eight properties, one of which is undergoing a large rehab project. Before joining Buckingham, she developed a strong background in lease-up marketing and management and in the acquisition of properties. Carrie has a Bachelors degree from Indiana University in Marketing and Logistics.
Susan manages a portfolio in excess of 1400 units in the Indianapolis and northern Indiana area. Prior to her start with Buckingham in October 2006, Susan was a Senior Regional manager for a 1500 plus unit portfolio. Her range of management experience stems from tax credit and market rate properties to lease-up marketing and sales. Winning the Indiana Apartment Association's Regional Manager of the Year award for 2006 proves the significance of her years of valuable industry experience.
Utilizing her 35 years of experience in property management, Susan DeHeer knows how to effectively increase property occupancies and achieve ownership objectives. DeHeer oversees over 1,000 apartment homes in properties located in Indianapolis, Indiana, Lafayette, Indiana and Gurnee, Illinois for Buckingham Management, LLC. She holds her Certified Property Manager (CPM®) designation through IREM as well as her Real Estate Broker License in Indiana. She is also a Certified Occupancy Specialist. DeHeer's strong marketing programs, pricing and concession strategies and strong customer service focus are major components in the financial success of her community portfolios.
